Training Program on Innovative Production on Vegetable Technique for Palestinian Officers

TRAINING PROGRAM ON INNOVATIVE PRODUCTION ON VEGETABLE TECHNIQUE FOR PALESTINIAN OFFICERS

bbppl-palestine1Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Agency for Agricultural Extension and Human Resources Development (AAEHRD) in cooperation with Palestine National Authority and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized “Training Program on Innovative Production on Vegetable Technique for Palestinian Officers” which be held on February 17th – March 2nd, 2013. This training program attended by 20 participants consists of 16 of male and 4 of female. The purpose of this training is to learn about farming practices on innovative techniques on vegetable production and vegetable agro processing. Because of that, Lembang District as one of centra area for vegetables choosen as a location of this training program. Lembang National Agricultural Training Center (NATC) being the committee to organize this training program.

The opening ceremony held on Monday, February 18th, 2013 at 11.00 a.m in Catur Gatra Room, Building D at AAEHRD Office. The training officially opened by The Executive Secretary of AAEHRD, Mr. Edi Aburachman, attended by Ambassador of Palestine, JICA Representative, Representatives from Embassy of Japan, Director of Technical Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director Bureau for Agricultural Training, and from Lembang NATC. After that, participants had a class with Mr. Asep Adinata about Dynamics Group, country report presentation, then followed by Policies on Processing and Marketing of Vegetable provided by Ms. Rani Mutiara Heidirsyah from Directorate General of Agricultural Processing and Marketing. In the afternoon, they went to Lembang NATC.

bbppl-palestine2On Tuesday, February 19th, 2013, participants went to Pasirlangu Village to learned and practised about Land Preparation and Plant Maintenance for preparing land by Mr. Arief Budiman, and make compost and rice husk media for paprica. After that, the went to Parongpong and learned about propagation technique for strawberry from Mr. Daniswara in the House of Strawberry. In LM3 Al-Hikmah they also learned about propagation technique for cut flowers from Mr. Uus Syuhaeri.

Wednesday, February 20th, 2013, participants went to Indonesian Vegetables Research Institute (IVEGRI) to learned about Tissue Culture Technique for Plant Propagation by Ms. Asih K. Karjadi, then practiced grafting technique on pepper and eggplant and tomato and eggplant. They also got theory about biological pest controls that new applied research for spider mite from Mr. Ahsol Hasyim.

Thursday, February 21st, 2013 at the same place which is IVEGRI, participants got theory about horticulture pest (IPM) for vegetables and fruits from Ms. Euis Suryaningsih, then modern technique for pest and disease control. Participants also got theory and learned about organic culture for vegetables and types and making organic pesticide. Types and making of organic pesticide and fertilizers for theory and practise also learned by them by Mr. Rahmat Sutarya.

Friday, February 22nd, 2013, in Laboratory of Tissue Culture Lembang NATC, participants got theory also practiced about applicable and simply tissue culture for mushroom. At the afternoon, participants went to CV. Bimandiri Lembang to learned about managerial skills of packaging house presented by Mr. Sandredo.

bbppl-palestine3Sunday, February 24th, 2013, participants visit to Fabe Aeroseed to learned about aeorophonic for potatotes seedling also grafting cactus by Mr. Hendra Gunawan. Then, they went to Farmer Agricultural Rural Training Center (FARTC) Mekar Tani Jaya and got theory about sorting and grading for vegetables from Mr. Doyo Mulyo Iskandar, packaging for vegetables also practised it. After that, participants practised about sorting and grading for special vegetables learned by Mr. Bobon Turbansyah also packaging it in Grace Company.

Monday, February 25th, 2013, the particpants went to Cisarua Bogor to visit Bina Sarana Bakti Foundation (BSB) to visit horticulture marketing company and prepared cultivation organically and marketing network on horticulture by Mr. Thomas Wendirise. After that, participants went to Indonesian Spice and Medicinal Crops Research Institute (ISMECRI) and got an explanation about Post Harvest Handling of Medicinal Plants from Ms. Nurliani Bermawie, consist of Manufacturing Instant Drink and Distillation. They also practised about packaging for herbs in fresh product.

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013, participants proceed to PT. Sayuran Siap Saji in Ciawi Bogor which is vegetable packaging and trading company and learned about packaging and labelling for fresh and processing vegetables presented by Mr. Deddy Adinata. Then, they went to Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) to visit ICDF Project, which is Indonesian-Taiwan Project about

Wednesday, February 27th, 2013, participants proceed to Mekarsari Amazing Tourism Park, Cileungsi and got theory and practised about double foot grafting method for woody fruit crops from Mr. Edwin A.I. In the next day, at the same place, participants learned about seedling propagation for melon on hydroponic method and conventional method, continued by shaping of edible melon. Then, they learned about the application of increasing value of crops named verticulture.

Friday, March 1st, 2013 they had presented in a form of group report about what they have learned as long as they had in Indonesia, especially in Lembang and Bogor, what will they do after got this training in a form of action plan. Then, the closing ceremony by Executive Secretary of AAEHRD, Mr. Edi Aburachman attended by JICA Representatives, Ambassador of Palestine, Director of Technical Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director Bureau for Agricultural Training, and from Lembang NATC. In Saturday, they returned to their respective countries.
